DIY Deodorant: The 4-Ingredeint Recipe to De-Stink Naturally
Homemade deodorant sounds strange but it is something that
could be better from the varieties of deodorants bought from the store yet
cheaper, healthier and inexpensive. You just need 4 basic ingredients to make
your own DIY deodorant that are: baking soda, coconut oil, and cornstarch.
Deodorants contain specialty to fight against the bad odor
comes from your body. On the other hand, antiperspirants are the antiperspirants
that actually block the sweat glands or ducts that are responsible to release
the sweat such as aluminum, artificial fragrances, and triclosan (used in
cosmetics to prevent it from bacteria) because they can start irritation on the
skin. The following recipe will never help in blockage of sweat glands but it
will work to plank off the bad odor and that is what deodorant is made for.
You will need:
- Coconut Oil 1/2 Cup
- Cornstarch 1/4 Cup (arrowroot powder used for sensitive skin)
- Baking Soda ¼ Cup
- Any Essential Oil 1/8 - 1/4 tsp (you can choose freely your favorite one)
Directions:
1. Microwave the coconut oil if it is in solid
state for 10 second intervals (it should be fully melted).
2. Mix it in essential oil.
3. Add cornstarch and baking soda then mix them
well until it becomes smooth.
4. Transfer the mixture into a jar and apply on the
body with the help of your hands.
Note: store your deodorant in refrigerator in case if
coconut oil has low melting point.
