Home Remedies for Productive Cough
Productive cough is associated with certain causes like
mucus, phlegm or sputum and therefore it is wet. Productive cough develops
infection inside the lungs. When trachea and lungs secret mucus substances
while cough, it could be attended as productive cough. In this way the fluid
substance eliminates from the lower respiratory tract.
In the case of dry and productive cough, doctors always
recommended to avoid such foods that can make the situation harder to solve. Spicy
dishes, vinegar, carbonated drinks; alcohol and smoking are those habits that
may increase the level of your coughing. For better relief from cough, you can
treat yourself by doing some excellent natural remedies to reduce the mucus and
heal faster.
Gargle with salt water. Mix one tsp of salt in half cup of
water and rinse your throat with this for about 3 minutes then spit the water. Repeat
the remedy three times a day.
Lemon and onions when combine together, they act wonderfully
for reducing the productive cough. Take a cup filled with hot water then add
lemon juice and onion juice. Add honey then let it cool and come to the normal
room temperature. Drink it one half. Do this remedy three times a day for 3
days.
Take a large pot and add handful of mint leaves and
eucalyptus in it. Boil the solution then take steam from this solution. Hold a
towel on your head then breathe deeply to inhale its vapors. It will readily
help in opening and maintaining the sinuses moisture.
Grate horseradish root, finely chopped onion, 5 tbsp of
honey and 5 tbsp of water. Mix them well together. Boil the mixture and wait
until it becomes cool. Consume the mixture one tsp 4 times a day.
