Home Remedies for Toothache
When toothache becomes mild to severe, it becomes unbearable
and need immediate response to treat. Getting the problem relief from natural
herbs is hundred times better than taking the powerful medicines that affect
whole of your body. You can prepare remedies using plants so find out the vigorous
ones for the toothache.
Causes of toothache differ from one another like gingivitis,
dental abscesses, decay, or exposed tooth roots. In all of these conditions,
symptoms include pain and inflammation of the gums, earaches, sinusitis, throbbing
pain in teeth, and feeding difficulty.
1. Cloves and Olive Oil:
Clove oil is recommended by the
dentist to get relief from toothache. Not only can this but it be used in
certain problems like headaches, skin problems, asthma and cough. Eugenol is a
substance present in clove oil which acts as a pain killer by boosting antibacterial
effect. Prepare the remedy by mixing 3 drops of clove oil and ¼ tsp of pure
olive oil then apply this mixture to the affected tooth three times a day. Use
a cleansing sponge to dab the mixture on your tooth. Do no rinse off the mouth.
Use powdered cloves on the tooth in case of not having clove oil.
2. Nutmeg:
Nutmeg is especially recommended for getting rid of
pain in tooth. It is used as a powder. What you would have to do is combine one
tsp of coconut oil, sesame or mustard oil (be sure the oil you chose should be
hot) with ¼ tsp of nutmeg powder. Take a piece of cotton and soak it in this
mixture then apply it on the affected area for few minutes. Gargle with warm
water. Follow this remedy for two days in a row.
3. Pepper and Turmeric:
Take a bowl then add pepper and
turmeric in equal amounts then apply it on the gums then massage for two
minutes. Rinse it off with cold water and repeat the process two times a day. Pain
caused by the loose tooth will be eased. After the process has been completed, avoid
drinking water or eating food.
4. Salt and Mustard Oil:
Combination of both of these
ingredients will give you instant relief from toothache. Make a mixture of one
tbsp. of salt and two drops of mustard oil then massage this mixture on the
gums for 2 minutes with gradual hands. The properties found in them will help
in making the gums strong and preventing from the falling tooth.
5. Onion Juice:
Onion contains sulfur compounds that work to
kill the bacteria. Take one tbsp. of fresh onion juice from onion or onion
flowers and apply on the pain holding area. Otherwise, Place the cleansing sponge
on the gum already soaked in the onion juice.
6. Ginger and Cardamom Seeds:
Take a piece of dry ginger, green
cardamom seed powder and a little licorice. Combine all of these ingredients
with one tbsp. of honey. It will make like a thick paste then apply this paste
on the painful area. Leave it for few minutes then rinse off with cold water.
